New Years Resolution 2011
Hey thar' internets,
It's the day after Christmas and I think it's a good time to talk about New Years Resolutions. As we all grow older, I think we forget to make one but I think it's essential in reflecting on the year to date. It's a time where you can see what decision (bad and good) you achieved and how you want start the new year? Example? Did you spend a lot of time eating a ton of sweets (chocolates and candy)? Do you want to change that in the new year? Add "start doing Pilates" to your new years resolution or even better "The INSANity Workout".
What I'd like to first start off doing is checking out what were my last year new years resolution and see what ones I am proud of and what ones I need to still do. Here are a few:
--New Years Resolution List-- (2010 edition)
Be open minded and don't turn down everything instantly.
-I definitely think I achieved this one by being just more open to everything. I think my personal growth in this was fantastic and I will continue to keep this kind of mindset.
Get out more.
-hahahaa, I def. achieved this one (for better and worst).
Have a new outlook in life.
-I think I have a new perspective on just "living" and what being "happy" means when being compared to "having everything you want in life". If this isn't on your list, ADD IT!
Marry Jessica Alba. Make 2 babies.
-Well that restraining order isn't helping...but that won't stop me now! 2012 is coming and the worlds ending. I'll be damned if we don't marry and have 2 babies (12 months to do all that. I better start cracking).
Eat out more occasionally and order their "most popular dish"
-Not really a financial new years resolution but I did get to eat out more and tried out new restaurants (and some old ones too. I'm looking at you Bennihanas! You are so delish! Right Katie?)
Get into a serious relationship.
-Well, I'm re-adding this to the New Year and hoping things work out!
Talk to my favorite people more often! You know who you are! <3
-To the people I've met this past year and gotten to know more. I <3 you guys! You guys are amazing and make life livable :)
Get matthew to quit wow.
-I know matthew is going to read my blog so matthew, I'D LIKE TO LET YOU KNOW THAT I ACHIEVED THIS ONE!! YOU FUCKER! hahahaa
Take a trip.
-Two words. Vegas. (oh, you were waiting for another word, well, Vegas is just that badass that it takes up 2 words.)
Try something new every week.
-Another financially not possible item on the list but I think I've definitely expanded out of my comfort zone. One of my favorite things I did was go Rock Climbing for the first time. That was insanely fun and an awesome workout! If you ever want to come with or need a partner to go with, give me a jingle!

-Readding this Bitch on my new year!
Start running at 11 oclock at night again.
-Whooo! I did pretty well on this in the summer which makes me happy :)
Don't deal with bullshit anymore.
-I don't like singling out people (especially on the internet) so I am going to readd this to the new year to make sure I'm not dealing with BS.
Learn 3ds Max like a professional.
-Work in progress!
To go around and tell people I don't know that I'm a famous hand model. Slap them when they look at hands.
-baahhahahaaaaaa
Now, you can see how starting out the new year and having a lot of items on your list can seem daunting but when it gets around to the end of the year, it's an awesome feeling seeing how things worked out and what didn't. Now being that it is a new year (2011!), I think I need to make a new list and here it is (drum roll please):
Get a tattoo (probably going to be the phrase "Carpe Diem" on my wrist).
Marry Jessica Alba. Make 2 babies.
Eat out more occasionally and order their "most popular dish"
Make sure the people that are the closet and are basically family know how much they mean to me! <33 you guys!
Hang out with the Whiskey Happy Hour guys more often (I don't think this one's going to be a problem. AWWWWW YEAAAAAAAH! GET SOME! Ian's Pizza better be ready for me!)
Make more progression on a certain goal in life :O
Get into a serious relationship.
Quit drinking soda.
Manage my money better and quit impulse buying (Damn you sweatshirt from Express Men!)
Wrestle a bear. And win.
Don't deal with bullshit anymore.
Take a trip.
Enter in more competitions.
Finish my first short film ("TEETH" - coming to a theater near you! ahhaa i wish!)
Go to another giant rave! (The Northcoast Music festival was such an insanely awesome time that I got to hit up another giant music festival. P.S. summerfest doesn't count because I end up going to that already!)
Be more outgoing and go out more often!
Keep working on my own personal growth.
Try something really out of my comfort zone!
Stop eating at fast food restaurants as often as I do.
Set up something up (blog wise, website wise) where the whole idea is to music binge. For people who like what I listen to and would be interested in starting this with me. Get in contact with me somehow (email, facebook, twitter, messenger pigeon, etc.)
Start playing Tennis in the summer.
Be more organized!
Start a new yearly tradition!
Find a new outfit shopping buddy (no homo)
Well that is all I can think of atm and if you have any more ideas, please do message me and I'd love to add them!
Happy New Years everyone!

21st Birthday!
I just want to say that I really really REALLY enjoyed partying this past weekend for my 21st birthday! Drinks were up high! But just thinking about it has me thinking on how society has so much pressure on having fun on you're birthday that it's insane! Think about how many people ask you what you did on your birthday and then they compare it to their own experiences. Think about how much pressure you just get from the event itself and how questions start arising. "Did anyone notice? Wow, I'm getting old. I hope I have a good time tonight." and so fourth. Maybe it's just me and how I see it but a birthday can be a really stressful time.
But, that wasn't like mine! I just have to say that my Friday (that's when my birthday was) was amazing. I loved being surrounded by people I liked and enjoy being around! I do miss my best friend Catie and wished she was there with me enjoying my night! She's a favorite :)
Anyways, I'm keeping this short because in life, you're given short and sweet moments. Enjoy 'em. Live in that moment because like anything great in life, you'll never know when it'll end.

Haters in the building
Expectations vs. Life
The two go hand in hand and I feel that sometimes we get something in life that we don't ever see in our expectations. For a warning, I'm just going to rant on this one because I'm not really sure what I want you to understand/to feel/to see.
I'll start with why I'm posting this. I got a phone call from someone close like 20 minutes ago and I won't go into details but she means a lot. She vented out some problems she's having at the moment and it really just hits me. What is the deal with our obsession with getting what we think we should be getting (expectation)? Why is it so much harder to deal with the reality of the situation rather than be satisfied with what we get? Is it because our generation has neglected the idea of being "thankful"? Is it because how much we put our mindset in getting that expectation and how we want to "Force" it in real life. And is it when that forcing doesn't work that our whole dream/expectation just collapses and we go into a sea of despair? Alright, the last part was kind of harsh/depressing/radical but I did it to kind of set a point.
Now to the second part. Think about how you get over these kind of situations and who you look to for advice. I'm not the most popular person around but I am thankful that I can at least count on a select few people for that kind of support. Quality over quantity! And to those people, I forever thank you! <3

11.17.2010
Hello, my name's Mike and my friends call me Mikee. I'll be using this blog just to dump thoughts, decisions and stuff about life that doesn't fit my other media centric blog. As I write in here, I think about how in the next 5 years on my life will change and how I will go back on this blog and look back to see how much has changed. Think back 5 years from now and ask yourself what has changed since then. Was it a lot? Was it a little? Were there many regrets? Many achievements? Many things you still want to do? Better yet, think back a year and ask yourself those same questions? I think as we grow up we tend not to look at those questions and just go on living our lifes. I hope this blog is a reminder for both me and to you (the reader) that where ever you are on you're life adventure that you know where you want to be and how you want to get there.
